Merseyside Computer Solutions would like to inform our customers that, on the 8th of April 2014 Microsoft will end support for the aging Windows XP operating system and for Microsoft Office 2003. While many consumers have already upgraded to Windows 7 or 8, there are still many who have not. This means that Windows XP users will no longer recieve Windows updates, automatic fixes, or technical assistance, which are needed to help prevent malicious software infections and possible data breaches. Merseyside Computer Solutions recommend that you replace your Windows XP computer and buy one with Windows 7 or 8 installed to keep your system protected.
Can I just update my Windows XP software
This depends on the hardware capabilities of your existing computer. However in most cases it would be cheaper to buy a new computer with Windows 7 or 8 preloaded whilst also having a warranty. If you do decide to upgrade instead, you can contact us for free advice and we will check to see if your computer will support Windows 7.
Can my data be transferred to my new computer?
If you buy a new computer Merseyside Computer Solutions can transfer all your existing data to your new computer. Therefore you will be able to keep all your existing files i.e photos, videos, music, documents etc. We will also give you a free AVG antivirus installation to help keep your system protected.
